Force Multiplier
The full written companion to our demo video. No experience needed — if you can type a sentence, you can do this.
Head to ElevenLabs and sign up with your email. The free tier gives you a monthly character allowance — enough to test everything below and decide if it's for you.
Create a free ElevenLabs accountOpen the Voice Library and browse. Filter by gender, age, and use-case (narration, conversational, advertising). Hit the play button on a few — you'll know the right one when you hear it. For your first test, any premade voice works fine.
In the Text to Speech box, type or paste what you want spoken — a sentence, a script, a full paragraph. Start short (a sentence or two) so your first generation is instant. Tip: write the way people talk, not the way people write. Contractions and short sentences sound far more natural.
Hit Generate. In a few seconds you'll have audio you can play right in the browser. Like it? Download the MP3 and it's yours to use in videos, podcasts, or presentations.
Once you're comfortable, try Voice Cloning: upload a minute or two of clear recordings of your own voice, and ElevenLabs builds a clone you can type with. Great for fixing a flubbed line in a recording without re-recording the whole thing.
Punctuation is direction. Commas, periods, and dashes tell the AI where to pause and breathe. A wall of unpunctuated text comes out robotic; well-punctuated text comes out human.
Stability vs. expressiveness. In the voice settings, higher stability sounds calmer and more consistent; lower stability is more expressive but can wander. Narration usually wants high stability; characters want lower.
Watch the free tier. Free accounts get a monthly character limit and the license doesn't cover commercial use. If you're making content that earns money, the Starter plan (a few dollars a month) adds the commercial license — we break this down in our free vs paid guide.
Yes, to try — the free tier renews monthly. Heavy users hit the character limit fast, which is when a paid plan makes sense.
For monetized or commercial content you need a paid plan for the commercial license. Personal, non-commercial projects are fine on free.
Surprisingly good with just a minute or two of clean audio. It's the feature that converted us — fixing one bad line without re-recording is a genuine time-saver.
